Respite
to Go
The Respite to Go
Programme provides a mobile respite service to Carers of people
with dementia, with associated cognitive and behavioural disorders
and Carers of younger people with a disability (under 65 or under 50 if Indigenous),
who live in rural and remote areas of South Australia and who
have limited or no access to respite services.
The service usually provides planned in
home respite and centre based group activities in local communities.
The service only operates in the rural and remote areas of
the North and West Country region. Respite to Go aims to deliver
services to clients who may otherwise be unable to access services
due to their remoteness. This is a ‘travelling’ service,
creating support in remote areas where there is a lack of dementia
specific respite services.
