Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre - North and West Country

The Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre - North and West Country is a national programme which contributes to the support and maintenance of caring relationships between carers and their dependent family members or friends by facilitating access to information, respite care and other support appropriate to their individual needs and circumstances, and those of the persons for whom they care.

Respite is arranged and brokerage funds are made available as necessary for residential and community respite.

The North and West Country Carers Respite Centre commenced operation in 1997 as part of the National Respite for Carers Program.

Clients

Clients are people who have taken on an unpaid caring role and who are seeking respite information and assistance in order to maintain their capacity to continue in that role.
